So today is the third day without Facebook. I genuinely thought that it would be harder than this. I would check Facebook, morning, noon and night, i probably even checked it while i was sleeping.
The daily grind of always needing to read peoples status updates or location updates was beginning to really get to me. You live other peoples life’s and forget you own. I would make myself feel depressed because i could see that some people were living amazing lives. I made myself happy because other people were living miserable life’s.
Although i am a great believer in the world changing and also the way people communicate via technology (hence using Tumblr and Twitter @mgoodchild00). I do not believe that the level of Voyeurism involved in Facebook is a great advantage to the way we should be living our life.
I obviously miss certain aspects of Facebook. I have a very poor memory and cannot remember anybodies birthdays. (Facebook always reminded me that i had to congratulate someone on reaching their x Birthday). I do not get invited to, what seems like, Facebook exclusive Events. I have lost communication with friends living abroad and the thing i will miss the most is the way Facebook adapts and changes to accommodate newer technologies.
Lets see how long i last but for the moment i am enjoying the peace and quiet.
